As an American, I can only ask WHY
and say YES I am Very Angry!!

THE HARD FACTS:

•According to the American Cancer Society's 2005 report cancer caused more deaths than heart disease.
•Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States.
•Lung cancer accounts for approximately 29% of all cancer deaths.
•Lung cancer kills more Americans each year than breast, prostate, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers combined.
•Approximately 50% of the people diagnosed with lung cancer have never smoked or are former smokers.
•In 2006, an estimated 174,470 people will be newly diagnosed with lung cancer.
•An estimated 162,460 people will die of lung cancer this year.
•An estimated 92,700 of these deaths will be men and 81,770 will be women.

The 2005 US Fiscal Year Defense Appropriations Act Allocated:

•$127.5M to breast cancer programs
•$80M for prostate cancer programs
•$10M for ovarian cancer programs
•$0 for lung cancer programs

US funding for Research Per Death in 2005:

•$23,474 per breast cancer death
•$14,368 per prostate cancer death
•$5,215 per colorectal cancer death
•$1,829 per lung cancer death

US Budget Current Allocations:

Iraq & Afghanistan Wars:
•$100 billion

Current Military:
• $563 billion

Past Military:
•$439 billion (including):
• Veterans’ Benefits $76 billion
• Interest on the National Debt $353 billion!!

Things I Want To Know:

• WHY is Cancer Research receiving so little funding?

• WHY is the leading type of cancer in the US receiving LESS research funding than other forms of cancer??

• WHY has Medicare funding for cancer treatment been CUT so it DOES NOT cover cancer treatment??

• WHY are US Pharmaceutical companies allowed to charge $2000 for ONE chemotherapy pill??
(Meaning most Americans do NOT have access to this important chemotherapy drug!)

• WHY were US Pharmaceutical companies involved in designing the new "Prescription Drug Plan" that is taking
food out of the mouths of Senior Citizens??

• WHY are at least 2.3 million Illegal Immigrant households getting some form of welfare, while an increasing number of US Citizens are often NOT
able to AFFORD the BASIC NECESSITIES of life
including FOOD and HEALTH CARE??

• WHY is the US Government LESS Concerned about the health and well being of US Citizens than it is about caring for Illegal Aliens, people in other countries and starting wars around the world?

•WHY have Veteran Benefits been cut
and why is interest on the National Debt being taken
from funds allocated for Veterans?

• WHAT happened to Government ACCOUNTABILITY??

• AND WHY ARE US CITIZENS ACCEPTING THIS??

My Conclusion:

Things are terribly wrong in this country and it is time for
US Citizens to DEMAND JUSTICE!!

NOT just justice for the wealthy minority and their political buddies --
Justice for ALL Americans
and especially for our Senior Citizens who helped build this country!

It is past time for AMERICANS to take back AMERICA!!
